Using a method developed by Toyota, a GE team goes on an energy Treasure Hunt to find energy and CO2 savings at a Wisconsin manufacturing plant. Since the start of the program, GE has carried out over 200 Treasure Hunts across its own facilities, saving more than $130 million. "Extending our Treasure Hunts to external partners and helping them reduce costs and save energy is a logical next step for GE," says Steve Fludder, vice president of GE Ecomagination.

"It never ceases to amaze me how much stuff is turned on that is supposed to be turned off."
Steve Rajnay, GE Energy
