Southern Cross took TEN10 Sydney overnight because that's what ATV10 Melbourne was doing as well! So Melbourne would get Sydney commercials etc. Channels 7 and 9 did the same thing during that period AFAIK.

Yes and TVQ 10 Brisbane had regularly switched overnight to TEN Sydney, ads and all - they still do on the odd occasion....

I miss the old southern cross network, a station we could call local and had personality, now all the stations are just retransmitting of the capital city stations with added in info comerical

Can you guess why? Because this was back when ten was in fairly bad shape, and EVEN ATV 10 crossed to Sydney after a certain time of night! It was strange seeing so many Sydney only ads overnight!

Ah - I remember this link-promo all too well! This one usually aired during the late-night hours when Southern's Victorian studios used to shut-shop for the night and cross over to Ten in Sydney (as the late-night feed carried a lot of Sydney ads and promos). I used to love these late-night sessions, especially for Prisoner at 4am.
