i don't know where that so called "atheists club" is, but please, do not hold that stereo type too close, not all atheists are like that. that room was what, filled with like what 30 people probably, yah, total population of atheist are much more than that, and remember, for everything in the world, there are going to be a few who are extremists, you just happened to be unlucky to find a concentration of extremists

@ironcross66106 Oh, and BTW, it was 19 people hanged, one person pressed to death and 13 died in prison. Another 140 were accused of being witches. This doesn't sound like a lot, but when you consider the trials last just over two months in a tiny village.....

@ironcross66106 I noticed you didn't touch the Inquisition, and though the witch trials were a bad example in that context, the point of bringing up the Salem which trials wasn't the death toll, but the religious superstitions of the time. Perhaps I should have included the Crusades? or wait, let me guess, they weren't true Christians either?
I noticed you evaded the comment I made about predominantly atheistic countries. I know it doesn't support you view, but the evidence doesn't lie.

@ironcross66106 "You clearly don't know much about what it is to be a true Christian". Neither do most Christians apparently. Let's give you the benefit of the doubt and say you're a "true" Christian. Though 80% or so of Americans identify themselves as Christian, I bet less then 10% are "true" Christians as you portray it. But who the heck would know anyway as any Christian that does something another "true" Christian says s/he shouldn't they are cast out of the lot of "true" Christians.

Part 2...Third: You have pointed out 3 people and allege their atheistic beliefs caused their actions, I have pointed out that from 1/3 to 2/3’s of several countries are atheistic in their views. Your retort only strengthens my argument. MILLIONS of atheists in the same place should be a HORRIBLE place, yet the evidence is exactly the opposite. Sweden, Japan, Finland, Denmark, Norway, France and South Korea to name just a few (see stats below)
Yes the world would be a much better place without the the superstition and mythology of ALL of the worlds predominate religions as the evidence in the post below demonstrates.
You said "but the over all majority of atheists I have seen exhibit the absolute worst traits I have ever seen in humanity on a regular basis."
U need to get out more often. Your statement about Churches in Saudi Arabia and comment about atheists are of course your opinion and you fail to offer any evidence 2 ur claim

@alueshen
How is this for evidence: Pol Pot. Joeseph Stalin, and Mao Zedong, all of which were atheists, and combined killed around 177 million people.
How is that for evidence?
Do you have any idea what would happen if a Christian decided to build a Church in Saudi Arabia or Iran?
By nightfall that Church would be burnt to the ground and the people would be either put in prison, or killed.

Part 1..First: merely citing common denominators does not establish the cause of their actions.
Second: Can you say the Inquisition or the Salem witch trials? Not that, unlike you, I can admit that these events, carried out in the name of Christendom, represent your values any more then Pol Pot, Stalin or Mao represent even a tiny fraction of the world atheists. The fact is, is that a person’s character is not determined by their beliefs.

@alueshen
How many witches died? 1 or 2?
Do you really want to compare the Salem with witch trials, to Pl pot, Stalin, and Mao?

@ironcross66106 Part 3 (sorry out of order) What would happen if a Christian decided to build a Church in Iran or Saudi Arabia? Religious extremists would prevent it (not sure what your poit was with this question). What happened when Muslims tried to build a Mosque in New York? Christians nationwide were outraged. If it wasn’t for the rule of law we enjoy, Muslims would be persecuted by Christians the way Christians are persecuted by Muslims.

@alueshen
Your point would be valid about the mosque in New York if there wasn't 300 Mosques already in New York.
However there is, so the argument fails.
You clearly don't know much about what it is to be a true Christian.
If a so-called Christian attacks and kills a muslim, they are NOT following the teachings of Christ.
However if a Muslim persecutes a Jew or a Christian, or an atheist for that matter they ARE following what their book teaches them to do.
Can you see the difference?
