Had this song not been made when it was and instead made today, i dont think it would be politically correct enough for all these offended folk. Love this song and I'm a metal head. Good stuff

Randy Newman wasn't trying to be politically incorrect back in 1977. I was a teenager back then and everyone understood that the song was criticizing prejudice,
Wikipedia says: "The verses and chorus are a bizarre and pointed attack on the short, with a contrasting bridge noting that 'short people are just the same as you and I.' Newman confirms that the song is about 'prejudice,' as was widely thought, but added that it was 'about a lunatic.'
