Two hundred Germans, including the descendants of Nazi officers who participated in the genocide of Jews during World War II, came to the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv to ask for forgiveness from survivors of the Holocaust.

  • Although they are not guilty of the sins of their relatives - it's easy to understand why they asked for forgiveness.

    If I were to discover that a relative of mine had been a Nazi criminal, I'd want to do the same thing. It would be very difficult to live with the knowledge that your grandfather, let's say, was responsible for murdering innocent civillians.

  • @pmoyer50 Not for the past. BUT ALSO FOR THE PRESENT ! Remember they have the NPD party , and also, the recent ( november 2011) neonaziterrorist attacks inside Germany, with the suspicious omission from the police, and BND. Beware of them.

  • @DG3744 : I guess they feel ashamed for the sins of their parents and grandparents. They have every right to feel.

  • They need not apologize... the crimes of their relatives are not their legacies
