This is the Disco band Soul Glow recorded live at Reno's Chop Shop in the Deep Ellum area of Dallas, Texas on February 13th, 2009. The video was mastered in HD-1080i using a Sony HVR Z1U camera. No filters or additional lenses were used. The audio was recorded straight into the mics on my camera so it is a bit crude. My camera has XLR inputs so we could have ran the audio straight in from the board but this was a last minute gig for me so there wasn't time to prepare. Also, the club was extremely dark so the video is very grainy. This was a one camera shoot from the back corner of the club and all footage mixed in was from other songs in the show. I'm hoping we'll do a profesional quality shoot with better lighting for this band sometime soon. Check out my YouTube channel for more musical acts that I have captured live. If you are in the North Texas area and would like a video for your band, go to www.TAPVideo.net for more info.
Nice one!
We've started using an Olympus LS-11 sound recorder to capture the sound separately from the cameras at gigs. This helps as you get a consistent sound track even when moving the camera(s) around. It seems to cope well with loudness and has a decent auto-level and limiter.
Just a thought...

Agreed. Worse though, is the video. The club was extremely dark and I didn't have any lights....and I only used one camera. I have 3 now though. The audio leaves a bit to be desired too as you said - likewise with most of my other videos. This is one of my worst when it comes to quality. Next show I'm doing though, I'll be pulling 16 tracks digital straight from the board and I'll have camera audio too if needed so I can remix it all later. That should be a bit better. Thanks again, TC!

Yeah, they are a blast to see live too...especially wth everyone dressed up in the 70's disco apparel! LOL - makes me want to buy some platform shoes and bell bottom pants. They definitely capture the groove.
