The Miao ancestors flourished along the Yellow River of present-day Shandong and Henan Province, contributing to the primitive, but highly advance Dawenkou civilization.
5000 years ago, the Miao ancestors were under the leadership of Chiyou, aka Txivyawg. Their tribe was known as 九里, or Kuj Cuab Cuaj Hlig Ntuj, known as the Nine Li kins of heaven.
After the end of Chiyou, the Miao people established the three Miao kingoms, 三苗 known as San Miao or Vaj Peb Hmoob along the region of the Yangtze River.
After the collapsed of Zhou kingdom, the Miao people seized many lost territories and established the 楚 Chu state during the Spring and Autumn Period / Warring States. This time was known as the prosperous period for the Miao ancestors.
The Miao ancestors suffered greatly and no longer united after the end of Chu. The Miao people were implemented with heavy taxes and cruel policies, and continued to endure hardship until the end of Qing dynasty.
Fate has caused our separation,
We are distant physically and geographically,
But, our hearts will always unite our love.

4:55 --- Anyone who didn't already know it... the fictitious name "Bai Long" means white dragon or "zaj dawb". So they were lying that Chiyou's grave was that of a white dragon. :)
