Northbound Q614 ended up being the last of three trains my son and I caught this morning and with that knowledge I decided to mix up the video with some stationary and pacing shots up the line on the chase back home.
We first see the train just north of Chehaw, Al. The train is seen here at the 134.0 MP and can be heard blowing for the same crossing seen in the previous video. As described earlier, The Mountain, or the subdivision running grade makes it quite easy to jump ahead of northbounds and we catch the train grinding up the 2% grade as it makes its way into the town of Notasulga, Al. After packing up and heading up Highway 14 we pace the train from just north of Notasulga, through Loachapoka (make note of how much speed the train picks up after the line begins to level out north of here) and into Auburn where we decided to call it quits for the day.
Enjoy!
I assume you're in you Jeep for this one. That's pretty good shootin' for a big old 4WD!

Sure was. I'm building that thing well around chase ability and so far it's done great.

I saved this out of total instinct in a I knew it was going to be good once I got the chance to view it.
You did not disappoint me! You make some of the best train chase videos I have seen.
Some people like to chase the steamers but I love to chase freight trains because nobody else is doing it!
100/100
BTW,
When they were calling the dispatcher at Lochapoka that gave me goosebumps!

Thanks.
Funny that I almost cut the conversation from the video but thought it would add a little something different. Now looking back I wish I didn't turn the volume down on the radio.
Lesson learned for the next chase video. :D
