I'm a little confused. Lets say the lim x-> -3+ Ix+1I/x^2 - 9. When I broke it down I got 2/0 and -2/0. Is my answer: it does not exist because there is a '0' in the denominator or is it negative and positive infinity? (based on it being an absolute value problem). @patrickJMT

if the left hand limit and right hand limit are not the same, the limit does not exist. a limit can not have two different values.

The way you broke this down was much better than how I was taught. You explained it in a way I could understand, and now I feel confident in ace-ing my test tomorrow. I only got 46% on my first try, and luckily I have a chance at a retest tomorrow. 100% here I come!

hey you are an amazing teacher !!!!
just a question i don't get why we ignore the denominator, why do we just concentrate on the absolute value ?? like in the second example if we plug 0 we'll get 1/0 which gives a 0/0 limit but instead we just concentrated on the absolute value part
