This is taken in June 2005, after spending several months memorizing the form's movements. Man, I miss the beard! Don't you love the beard? See my other videos to see which looks better...Bearded or Beardless.

  • siu lim tao is way too fast too much bouncing up and down on the final sections

  • @iskkarate It's not way too fast. The form can certainly be done fast or slow. Please look at my more recent videos. As regards to bouncing please notice my shoulders to the wooden dummy beam in the background...not too much bouncing.

  • Good forms. Well done. How long did it take you to learn these forms?? that beard isn't real though surely :)

  • Took me a few weeks to get the dummy down from the 116 YIP MAN book. Yes...the beard is 100% real after 6 month of growing!

  • @sirzuke Did you say you learned the wooden dummy form from a book, if so, thats awsome!

  • @thechicat ..thanks, yes, from the book...had to print out all the pages (section by section) tape them to the wall to memorize...takes at least one week to get one section down to where you start the next section...after a month you can take down the pictures on the wall behind the dummy as there will be dozens of pages! The wooden dummy a powerful training device and secrets will unveil themselves as you progress.

  • @sirzuke DO you have a Sifu that you learned from? I don't have a wooden dummy, but I have a WIng Chun attachmate, it gets shipped in pieces, you put it together, and attach it to a heavy bag, it has the three arms, but it soesn't have the leg, but thats ok because I improvise, since I've had it and practice with it, my stance and forms have improved.

Your form looks great though, I'm not too crazy about the beard.....sorry

  • yup, smoother wooden dummie would be good, and harder silumtao would be good. i'm sure you've already refined both over all, good... keep it up.

  • As far as sil lim tao.

  • Hmmm. Sifu's teach differently. good luck.

  • Good job man, but in the wooden dummy form, study and improve ur footwork. Also, u a lil bit lost ur center line as well as elbow control. Additionally, ur shoulder moved up n down too much, be careful with that. Learn more and 'll be really good ;)
