Whaddya know, I found a Ryko Monarch II High Pressure. This is a quite rare machine, only a handfull were made before Ryko changed over to High Impact. It appears to predate the introduction of ultrasonic vehicle size detection!

It was working well. The only problems it had were that the left dryer didn't oscillate (a rush of air every few seconds suggests there's a broken line or bad pneumatic seal), and low wax application pressure. Well, I could call the use of Turtle Wax chemicals a problem in itself, but that's just me... or is it?

Now, in the video, I mention a "crown". This is what I've taken to calling the figure created by the water hitting the windows on a touchfree machine, and its size pretty much indicates how much force the droplets have when they slam into the vehicle. The largest crowns and strongest wash action I've seen have been from Ryko high impact and Belanger Vector machines. This machine put the Vector to shame, and darn near out-crowned the Ryko US2001!

That blob of sun-baked bird poo was just beyond the abilities of any automatic wash to remove. I had to scrape it off with a razor blade. What the hell was that bird eating, JB Weld?!

  • Is this car wash located at the Shell gas station? On the left side of the bay, was there another car wash?

  • @bluebeast600 Yeah, that's it. The machine on the other bay is a poorly maintained Ryko Voyager that's been upgraded with FoamBrite. DO NOT USE IT...

  • @hyvahyva How is the other machine poorly maintained? How will it look like when I see it? Which parts won't work?

  • @bluebeast600 The air lines are all messed up so it can't properly move the brushes in and out, the Foambrite brushes are moldy, and it has a foul stench about it. >.<

  • @hyvahyva Can you make a video showing the poorly maintained machine?

  • @bluebeast600 Uhh... only if you lend me a car you don't mind having permeated thoroughly with the smells of wet bird poop and dirty socks.
