In March 2011, DC Comics released Action Comics #900 wherein Superman decided to renounce his American citizenship after participating in a protest in Tehran.
Comics Artist Michael Netzer responded to the story in June, with a two page story, Armageddon Diplomacy, where Superman explains why he's going back to Tehran to finish what he started. In the story, Superman takes Batman and Wonder Woman with him to participate in another protest by burning American, British and Israeli Flags.
