Trucks 'Fail' Crash Tests

Most trucks received disappointing ratings for side-impact collisions by insurance companies. The lack of standard side air bags is cited as one reason. Susan Koeppen reports.

While the Toyota may have the best side impact crash test rating I'd rather not own a truck from the car manufacture who's known for sticky accelerators.

Well at least you know when your gas pedal is stuck and you crash u still have a decent chance at living. The colorado wasnt made by GM either. It came from Izuzu. And if the other trucks had side airbags they would of did just as good by the looks of it.

@TheBlackeyedpeas1996 Dodge makes REALLY crappy vehicles... as a dodge mechanic (not by choice) they practically fall apart at the seams from lazy American craftsmanship.

@epjb226 I'm just curious, didn't you do your homework before you bought your truck? The Colorado has other faults besides it's side impact tests. It's not reliable, and the engine is rather weak ( the 5 cyl). If more people would do their homework and not buy junk from car manufactures, the manufactures would stop putting junk on the market.
