umbrellas are part of our culture since we live in a tropical and rainy country. its part of our lives and umbrellas are beautiful in the first place. no matter how many great storms visit us, we will never stop using them.

its kinda funny how people walking in waist deep water still carrying an umbrella lol some funny shit. i could not stop laughing i know its not a laughing matter and im sorry to all the loss love ones and property.
IMO, I think that this disaster (and worse can still can follow this year) ought to make everyone wake up to the fragility of their lives regarding climate change and the lack of care/planning for such disasters by government.
After all, they can afford to move to the US and stay with friends and family while the population dies here.
It is a good job for you Filipinos that the UN is taking this situation more seriously than your government. GMA thinks people can buy nippa huts from the highway, that Manila can be cleaned in 72 hours, and that thinks can be normal soon; no need for outside aid as PI's have plenty food stocks/plant 'fast-growing rice'.
The situation is being portrayed very different by the UN and International media.
