One important thing to notice was the strong "ghosting" in the analog picture before the shutoff - caused by multipath, signals bouncing off of structures or hills, much the same way your voice bouncing off a wall will cause an echo. This, quite often, KILLS digital TV reception
Thanks for posting this. What a disapointing shutdown - there was no crawl or even a mention of it in Sunday nights newscast. They did put up a slate during a commercial break announcing the transition and that it would take place Aug 31st for this station. Go figure. However the website did say 9:30 this morning. The station has been on air since 1954. You would think they would have commemorated that in some way.
@Evuguy what is there to commemorate? The station isn't gone. Also CHCH had been advertising for over a month that they will be switching to digital
