  • These videos are wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing.

  • You're very welcome. Thank the Eastern State Dressage and Combined Training Association for granting permission to show them. And the instructors and riders. There are a lot of trainers who won't agree to have a clinic on-line, including the member supported USDF whose role is to support education and participation. In an expensive sport that has so few experts in the USA; it's sad that they won't share their expertise.

  • follow up to my earlier post- I passed the L program "with distinction" which enables me to apply for the "r" judging program- and studying these videos were a tremendous help! So THANK YOU FOR POSTING THESE!!!

  • SO true.

I am only at Training level at the moment..however I have learnt so much about dressage and the concepts these past 7 months.

I will be honest and say that I could not STAND dressage before - I thought it was pointless and that all the riders were just being cruel and unfair to the horses... however I now LOVE the sport and have realized it is actually the complete opposite of what I thought in the beginning!

  • It's not very fair to generalise and to assume that everyone is in the situation that you describe. Unfortunately, what you say is true in some cases, but believe me, it's not very much better in Europe. I live in France, where you have to pass "galops" to compete at certain levels, but it only limits the problem a little. And there are, fortunately, plenty of people who ride well and work hard to do things correctly with their horses all over the world.

  • My mom taught me when I was a little girl that if you don't have something nice to say, then you shouldn't say anything at all. I think applying such a theory would have helped you to pass for a much more mature, open minded person, but I respect your opinion.

  • Art ? I am sorry but what I see at dressage shows nowdays is NOT art. Because of the complete desaster of the USDF system and that anybody and I mean anybody can buy a $500,000 horse in Germany and start competing in Grand Prix , I see people with no seat, people with jumping hands in double bridle =horse in purple tongue, IS THAT ART ? we are very far from the classical masters , most of these middle aged women bad riders loaded with money are ruining dressage and what it is all about. Horrid

  • GREAT instruction, thank you so much for posting these series, it is so helpful!

  • Wow, I can't believe somebody put something negative about this video series. I am going through the "L" progam and am finding these SO HELPFUL. Both Peters and Foy do an excellent job making simple concepts very clear. THANK YOU for posting these!!

The person who put the "snoresville" comment probably appreciates barrel racing or steeplechasing more. Dressage is not for everyone, but with a little education, you can appreciate the art. If you're bored, you don't understand what you are seeing.

  • SNORESVILLE
