What Motivates So Many People to Ridicule Virgins And Virginity? The Church teaches that there are three vocations in life for human beings: the married life, the single life and the life of a religious. The moral norm for a call to the single life or religious life is that of virginity. The moral norm for those who are called to a married life but are not yet married is also virginity. Original music by rosaryfilms. Some quotations from "The Catechism of the Catholic Church". All photos fair use. Other content created by Secret of the Rosary Films.

  • this the truth! let us all protect our virginity in every way...

  • @sirrodz - thank you for your comments!

  • I'm a 21 year old virgin and practice celibacy. Mostly motivated by my environment, I've never had a desire to have sex and if I did I wouldn't settle for anything less than marriage. I wanted to do something different other than what I was exposed to. I've noticed that many people who are bothered or ridicule virginity, are the main ones who can't come to grips with the decision they made. Or they've been brainwashed to think their lives cannot be fulfilled unless sex is involved.

  • @Sepia1789 - thank you very much for your excellent comments! regards...

  • Wonderful video. My husband and are are devout Catholics who are very happy that we both waited until we were married to have sex.

  • @lifecoach2010 - thank you very much for your comments and may God Bless you and your family! regards...

  • Voluntary virgins have as little comprehension of the pain, anger and loneliness of INVOLUNTARY CELIBACY as do the sexually promiscuous bullies who mock virgins

Religious fundamentalists are not as cruel in their approach but telling someone suffering from this sort of loneliness that the answer is in God, isnt remotely helpful.

I also think it is arrogant of religious hardliners to demand others dont have sex before marriage- who are you to preach to others about their lives??

  • I respect voluntary virgins who chose celibacy for religious reasons. It obviously isn't pleasant being ridiculed. But at least voluntary celibates are comfortable in their positions.

The hardest position of all is for involuntary celibates; people who want to experience sex but for a variety of reasons can't. The frustration, loneliness and mental anguish they feel is hugely overlooked.

I respect voluntary celibates but I think they should also respect involuntary celibates

  • @vexx506 Thanks man, I didn't strike me back then.

  • @genai98 its just a computer-generated voice reading what they typed, that's why it sounds odd.

  • @cogsdell Generally the audio is someone speaking & recording live for the video but in this case it seemed like the audio was pre-recorded.

  • What's that to do with anything!

  • @lawfullyperfect Well said...

  • Is it me or does the audio really sound like some recording ?

  • It's natural to have the desire to have sex, it motivates family and that's the same reason it should be confined to marriage. I've seen the overall damages of self worth, respect, and love come from premarital intimacy in all of its forms. Do not arouse those feelings in any until marriage, and then keep it between you and your spouse, it is so special then. So many people miss out on the beauty of marital intimacy, and I believe that's why people ridicule virginity, because they've missed out.

  • Can a child be un-conceived? Can a marriage be divorced in the Name of Jesus Christ? Can an experience be un-lived? Likewise, a parthenos cannot regain her virginity, but has been pierced, and therefore married to a man. Until her purchaser dies, she is his. The ways of God can seem foreign and offensive to those in the West, can't they? I feel so much pity for those who have believed the lie that premarital sex exists, for every instance of sex is either binding marriage or shameful adultery.
