  • Vista is still slower than Christmas, lol.

  • @CJCA915 It wasnt for me, but then I was using the 32 bit version and I've seen benchmarks on cnet where there wasn't much diff between vista and 7 32 bit, but vista 64 bit was definitely slower than 7.

  • @codebean Windows 7 x64 seems way faster than Vista ever was on my system.

  • @CJCA915 Yeah I think win 7 x64 is definitely an improvement over Vista, I know other ppl who have used Vista x64 and found win 7 x64 a lot more snappier.

  • @PoliticalHell 32bit Operating systems can only detect 3GB of ram unless you go through a hack to gain the extra ram (which slows down the machine considerably)

  • Perhaps they should have reconsidered and have a third-party team design the entire operating system, and then let them have a stab at the XBox while they were at it.

The 64bit version was not that bad, but the 32 bit version (which oddly only supported 3GB of RAM) was terrible.

  • @JamesManes I meant to say "less insecure".

My point was the Computer Sophistication level is a bit higher. You could easily gain root on some else's RHEL6 box, but depending the user, you may not be able to hack a Windows 98SE User.

like I said, "The biggest Security hole is between the Chair and the Keyboard".

  • @commodore256 I don't agree with Linux being more secure in general. I believe the different base of Linux provides security to end users simply by being incompatible with Windows malware.

  • @JamesManes Linux is more secure. (in general)

While compiz videos are retarded, the typical Linux user making those videos, they're more likely to not install a Trojan than the the typical "Yeah, e-Machines, our Cup Holder is broken".

The biggest security hole is between the Chair and the Keyboard.

  • Microsofts security measures are great. The whole "Use Linux/OS X it is more secure" argument is really stupid. Remember when Google switched to OS X for "security?" LOL
