Now you people that weren't around in the 60's can see where that goofy woman in those Progressive Insurance commercials gets her hair style from. (I think it's Progressive Ins.)...but I'll trust you'll know who I'm talking about.

@OgPsQd Where does she live, and how is her health, etc? What's she up to?

This was the first in a long list of hit singles recorded in Armin Steiner's homegrown garage studio on Formosa Street, Los Angeles.

I love this song........Dee Dee is an old and dear friend.

@blkshepherd Hmmm, in those days, it would have been considered dressy and stylish. Styles of today are sleazy. Funny, no one mentioned how sloppy he looks with that untucked shirt, which would have earned him a trip to the principals office in school, and a reprimand plus no promotion if he came to work looking like that. Look at the snappy matched and coordinated attire of that period. Only he is out of step, the others dressed with respect for public appearances. Then along came the hippies.

I recommend visiting Dick and Dee Dee's official website for video clips unavailable on YouTube, like them singing "Heartbeats" from the film "Wild Wild Winter" backed by the Astronauts. Or a clip of them singing the Castaways' "Liar Liar" with Billy Preston on keyboards.

1ST VERSE: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yea-hea, yea-hea, yea-hea yea-hea The mountain's high and the valley's so deep Can't get across to the other si-hi-hi-hi-hi-hi-hi-hi-hide Don't ya give up baby, don't you cry Don't ya give up till I reach the other si-hi-hi-hi-hi-hide I was lonely baby, I couldn't sleep The night they took you from my si-hi-hi-hi-hide I was a lonely soul Until you became my goal And then I saw the spark of love And then the stars fell from up above OH YEAH!
I grew up in Baltimore during the '50s and '60s, and don't recall a local teen show called "The Scene". We did have one called the "Buddy Deane" show hosted by Buddy. It aired mid afternoon during the week and there was also a Saturday afternoon airing from what I remember.
Really enjoy hearing these songs sung again from that era of my life. It's like turning back the clock to a simpler time...

@shortliner68 Now I know, it was broadcasted in Oklahoma (WKY-TV - now KFOR.), hoasted by Ronnie Kaye.

@nmulae It's from a local show called "The Scene". I don't remember which town it was broadcasted from though. Maybe Baltimore.
