  • by winning that tournament Muster showed he was not just a claycourter. So much will power in this point - he was a great sportsman

  • That was still one of the best points in tennis history.

  • @kinkabala : That´s an arrogant comment. I remeber when Kuerten cruised to his first FO title he played an out of shape Muster in the third round . A Muster at the very end of his career who had hardly won a clay-court match that year. Muster led 3:1 in fifth set before losing a bit unlucky. That was Kuerten at his best (he later demolished Bruguera in the final) vs. Muster at his worst. That says a lot about who would have had the upper hand had they played in their respective primes.

  • 0:26...früher hätten sie so wen eing'sperrt....

  • @knoxharrington666: Na, hat dir die Mama im Suff zu oft aufs Kopfi gehaut, depperter Sautrottl?

  • so ein spastiker...musterbeidl....

  • shhhhh! it's a secret :)

  • But musters time was 95 and 96 ,before he was knocked down by a drunken driver people used to say that he will be nearly unbeatable at the us open 89 .Not only on clay but also on hard court he was a favourite and in the shape of his life. The accident throwed him back to the start and he had to go step by step but he never gived and thats what makes him a great champion: his unbeliveable and iron will.He had to go through hell and he came back nearly as strong as he was

  • @bierbaron6666 Bullshit before courier muscled up he was owning Brugera , Muster any one else on clay - mostly through the sheer power of his forehand and fitness. By 93 Couriers game had been affected it ( the last year he reached the fo final ) after winning it the 2 previous years in row.

Brugera won it x2 too although injuries seemed to be more of the factor in his demise . Muster would of done better during those years but instead he just picked up after them & before gugas run

  • I liked watching Muster grind it out , pity Agassis muscle bulk tarnished his power game as he would of had lot of good matches , same with Courier .

Muster was bit lucky to get Change when he won the FO , Guga would of probably beaten him.

  • @89Pleasek Yes but, in example, one could also say that Sampras' backhand or Edberg's forehand would be better if he played today.. I don't see the point: I can judge what I can see, not what "I could see if..".Truth is that today, Federer has better backhand but weaker volleys than Sampras. How much his volleys would been better if he had played in 80s it's impossible to say: a bit better, probably, but how much?Like Sampras?Like McEnroe?I'll remember Mac for his volleys and Fed for his forehand

  • Not a single serve-and-volleyer in what, the top 30?, sais it all. Just a couple of those in the top 100. That won't change if the ATP decides to keep slowing everything to the speed of clay.
