Well, I have seen both shows and they are both great, but I still lean toward GG. I love the premise of SFU, especially since I am in pursuit to become a forensic pathologist. But GG will always be my number one show. I'll agree that GG takes on a more comedic tone than SFU (and I LOVE the illusions and I don't see how it's ignorant. It acually enriches the show), but it adds to the charm of the show. I think both shows are realistic and fantastic, but in different ways.

It's also hard to take your statement as a valid one considering you have not seen both shows. I however have and fully knowing both of their premises, I am heavily inclined to say that SFU is a far more mature and realistic show, dealing with the realities of life in a far more relatable way then the Gilmores. I guess some people prefer not to mask their tragedies with illusions because that just ignorance.

There are a lot of hypocrisies in your statement. Also No one is taking a personal attack against your choice in entertainment. There really is no need to get so defensive over a television show and its fictional characters. It is our right to dislike the Gilmores just as it is yours to like them. It's called an opinion and it's usually based on subjective feelings.

Well I watched The Gilmore Girls and I never viewed it that way. I never saw the "deeper and meaningful" side of all that incessant talking.

All I was pointing out was the mocking the Six Feet Under clip was obviously doing. Here are two very different sets of mother/daughter combos and the reactions they have toward each other. The relationship between the two sets are as opposite as can be.

I love Six Feet Under and the realistic way the show portrayed a modern family.

They deal with real issues in a funny and charming way. The story line between Lorelai and her parents is one most people can relate to and many students can relate to Rory trying to get into college. If you watched Gimore Girls, you would see that they bash other things all the time. I'm sure Six Feet Under is a good show, but Gimore Girls is just as good or even better show that Six Feet Under.

Gimore Girls is just as a great show as Six Feet Under and if you use "let's talk fast like we're best friends and use big words to seem hyper-intelligent and uber pretentious" to describe gg then you obviously don't know the show. It is alot deeper and meaningful than talking fast and it has realistic story lines.  The writers of the show didn't show gg in a sugary way. One of the main settings was in a small idealistic town.

Regardless if you love Gilmore Girls or not this scene in Six Feet Under is a blatant Gilmore Girls bashing.

Normal regular family compared to the sugary sweet unrealistic "let's talk fast like we're best friends and use big words to seem hyper-intelligent and uber pretentious."

Six Feet Under rules the shit out of the gilmore girls any day.
