Love this video!

I have some friends who just don't see the night sky as I do. It's always tricky to try and explain what I see when I look up at a stellar starscape; to convey the feelings and thoughts I feel when I gaze at such a wondrous view. This video explains what I feel and think when I look up during a clear night. Thanks for posting this!

Love to see anything "Space related" going on out there, too much violence and hate in the world.... Thumbs up!

This is amazing! I live right down the road and work for the academy! So nice to see a promo out for it!

Bible quotes for this observatory are very fitting as the observatory was built and is run by staff of French Camp Academy. FCA is a Christian school-home that serves young people from broken homes and disadvantaged situations by providing a safe, structured, nurturing environment. The existence of God is continually evidenced through the work He does there. The ministry of the school has expanded over the years--one addition being the wonderful observatory featured in this video.

The folks there are of a gentle spirit with a big welcome mat to all who wish to learn more about what is up around those stars in the night sky. I have since my first time there, returned again and again, taking my own children there. It truly is a wonderful place. The boyfriend did not last in my life but the joy of that date, stayed. THANKS Bob F. for that wonderful night as I looked up by way of the 32 inch.

mememe2589, I am sure they did not HAVE TO put anything in this clip. It was more likely, the work of the author who took the time to create this AND it is a reflection of the strong faith of others who are keeping this observatory up and running. I am not even sure how much support the school there gives to the Observatory. Since 1988, when a boyfriend took me down there from Starkville to view the stars, I visited on and off over the years. The place welcomes all as we each learn to LOOK UP.

Huh?
I attended French Camp in the 1960s and know this to be a place of excellence that is not JUST religious, although that's an important part. The Rainwater Observatory is an amazingly impressive extension of what some mighty fine people have done for thousands of kids over more than 40 years -- including me.
Regardless of your own beliefs, there is plenty of room for everyone else's.

Mr. Hill has always believed in not cramming religion down anyone's throat, but he is a devout Christian and a Scientist in every since of the word. Rainwater is open to anyone, no matter what you believe, and keeps a very scientific approach to its educational experience. With that said, the mission statement of Rainwater Observatory is to show how "the heavens declare the glory of God." A telescope can show anyone the glory of God's creation. No Bible waiving necessary.
