Every racing fan has their personal favourite racehorse, for National Hunt racing Remittance Man is mine. Once he went chasing he was fabulous and at his best over 2m - 2m 4f he was virtually unbeatable. I haven't seen a better jumper of a fence since either. It's a shame that he suffered injury during the prime of his career otherwise I believe he would have been a multiple winner of the Champion Chase in my opinion.
if you know any thing about horse racing you cannot deny this horse was class!

T his has 2 b the forgotten horse. Why he isnt spoken about as an all time great is beyond me. He was a class act and a true champion, not like some of the paper champions around now days.
Just look wot he did 2 Morley street. And the way he pulled away from match fit Deep Sensation

One of the best...sadly didnt get the same recognition as some of his peers...great hurdler, hardly ever fell.

Funny thing is I liked Morley street but he was a much better hurdler than chaser.

Shame, Iooked like the winner b4 falling in champ chase that year too if I remember correctly. Have a load of personal favs but have to mention Master Oats (still have stormin Normans signature on racecard from Perth on day it won there, went on to win Gold Cup that year I think.

This is great footage of an absolutely top class nh horse. certainly the queen mother chase and his win at newbury spark off nostalgia
