Mexico Real Estate expert, Thomas Lloyd, speaks with Pedro Trueja, president of AMPI National (Mexico's Association of Real Estate Professionals) and Wilberth Gutierrez , president of AMPI Riviera Maya. The three projections of the Mexico real estate market and how Mexico stacks up as a Canadian and American retirement destination.


Trueja discusses the attractiveness of a Mexico Retirement for Americans and Canadians. He points out that many retirees from north of the border enjoy Mexico's warm climate, warm culture and friendly people. Prices are also very accessible, both in real estate and day to day life. With 80,000 American baby boomers about to retire, Mexico offers an excellent option, since it is also the closest country to the U.S.


Many locations in Mexico also include a full set of services for retirement, with many indications that there will be more in the near future, including health services and infrastructure making investment in business convenient. The calm, quiet life for which Mexico is known, the large variety of climates and landscapes, including mountains, beaches and deserts, and different community styles, including beachfront and colonial all point to excellent reasons to retire in Mexico.


Gutierrez speaks next, discussing the particular attractions of the Riviera Maya, the area which includes Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Tulum. He mentions the wide, white beaches with turquoise blue water, which have made the area famous, and the beautiful jungle surroundings with its cenotes (cool, refreshing pools at the entrances to the the area's very extensive underground and cave network.)


The area's economic strength also provides solid investment opportunity. Playa del Carmen has shown especially good results in recovery from the recession, providing a guarantee of protection for investment and promise for excellent asset appreciation.
