Vampire movies have been present way before that movie. Daybrakers were awesome. They brought a new concept.
Also Blade was amazing, Dance of the vampires is the vampire classic, Nightwatch deals with the whole new dark world.
Screw twiligt and gay kids on steroids.

This was a mix of many vampire myths and variations we have the vampire whos caused by a disease, we have the 30 days of night vampires and the I am legend vampires.
