In a letter dated September 29, 2008, Chad Hardy, producer of the infamous Men on a Mission Calendars and www.MormonsExposed.com website, received a letter from Mormon-owned Brigham Young University informing him that he had been deleted from his August 15, 2008 graduation, and would not be awarded his BA degree in Communication Studies because of he was excommunicated from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on July 13, 2008, a month before graduation.
All of his required coursework had already been completed prior to the church discipline, and was not required to abide by the schools strict Honor Code because he finished his coursework online from his home in Las Vegas, NN. His only recourse given to get his diploma was to come back to full fellowship with the LDS Church.
Brigham Young University failed to follow their own policies and procedures in disciplining Hardy and revoking his degree. This series of videos are the actual recording from the official University Review with BYU Dean of Students, Vernon Heperi.
Two weeks later, Hardy was denied an exception from BYU policy and will not be awarded his degree.

After seeing the ABC Nightline interview I was mostly shocked when I heard BYU withheld your diploma...not being able to sleep because of what i thought I heard, had to investigate...After listening to your case review it's disgusting that this did in fact happen when you honored the code while you were a student, why not the degree??? What you do outside of college does not reflect if you get to keep your degree. After 2002, if you took a sip of tea then you are to give back your BYU degree??

If you weren't a student, why are you applying for Graduation? IF you no longer adhere to Mormon vlaues, why apply for Graduation from a Mormon school. You are either in or out. From your own responses, you are out. Move on.
