Good job Delhi...wonderful metro system and congrats for becoming the second metro in the world, after the New York City Subway, to be ISO 14001 certified for environmentally friendly construction, also for winning the awards for environmentally friendly practices from organisations including the United Nations, RINA, and the International Organization for Standardization.

@MrEthekyaa True-Indians are said to be second most happy people- they remain cheerful despite the stack of odds- most related to economy- Indians relie on intuition which is more powerful that logic or reasoning

@cmoapat Boston's subway cars are not as old but they wear out quicker because more than half the subway is surface or elevated and subject to rock salt. Plus the underground sections are ancient and decrepit and smell of p.

@abh3092 yup i am generalizing but there is a reason human beings generalize - it is often a fairly accurate way to look at the world that has too many exceptions for any logical rule.

@mrkv39 --you fucking idiot! you are generalizing.

How come Indians always lie? I met so many smart, many educated, and some nice Indians... but they ALL lie like it's national pastime.. what's up with that?

I can't stress enough how much easier the metro has made life for me! :P I live in Faridabad, a satellite town to the south of Delhi. Earlier I'd feel intimidated at the thought of going anywhere within Delhi proper; it would involve more than two hours of negotiating through chaotic traffic. Now, I go to Connaught Place in central Delhi every other weekend in comfortable AC coaches, and it costs no more than 22 rupees. Lower, I may add, then the rickshaw fare for a fifteen minutes' journey! :P

i can see come assholes in the name of kerala trying to sell their own mother to pakistani terrorists, making some hello fellow Indians, just ignore them, problm is that their mother raped by pakistani terrorists infront of him and his fathers.
India is a wonderful country. I have visited it many times. I hope all this rapid modernization won't change the character of the country which I fell in love with long ago. As someone who lives in a developed country, I can attest to the fact that quality of life and happiness does not necessarily improve along with GDP/capita.
