Profanity attacking, personal attacks, and spam will not be tolerated!! ***** Have an axe to grind, don't do it here!***** Go where they WANT to drive into a tornado and grind there. You know who they are. I respect you, please do the same. A lot of people saying this was AMAZING! Thanks. And the one's who say I'm crazy...I understand. Love all the comments before anyone knew my story. Just a passion for weather drives me...This is not a DEBATE PLACE. For the ones who don't understand, (you know the ones who NEVER WILL make a blunder storm chasing and are perfect)... Being that close to the tornado was not a plan. This was shot on my cell phone. I could care less about the quality of the video at the time while having 3 cameras with me... No way I was going to "out run" this close...The last scan on radar showed it was still a bit west and I thought I could get past it in time south...but it was moving right along growing. The plan for this day was chasing for video, not spotting...That day.. SN and RadarScope was full of trained locals spotters doing a perfect job, so I was NOT really needed. I'm a trained spotter/chasing 25 years and a former 14 year TV Broadcast Meteorology on camera weather man, a pilot, NWA/AMS Certification. Radar had not updated in 20 minuets, so It was tough to figure where the tornado actually was ... I slowed down realizing I missed my exit. After Missing my exit, the road curved more that I expected with wire cable barriers, where you can't turn around. When I clear the trees...I stopped unhooked my seat belt and put one leg out the door to see if I could anything. Then I saw it! Saw how close the tornado was and how fast it was moving at me. It became a wedge tornado with a smaller tornado in minutes! ... so, I drove maybe 400 feet into a low spot. Then I started thinking, put my seat belt back on, turned off the suv key so something flying would not hit the front and deploy the airbags...but kept one hand on the key to turn it back on just in case I went flying and was ready for the worst. I was holding my cell camera in the window while laying in the seat so I would not get hit with debris. Was not going to lay face down outside and have my own SUV roll over me. Damned if i do, damned if i don't. Shingles and rocks broke my windows. While looking Looking around, I saw rolled vehicles. A bunch of us help people hurt until help arrived. Low spot helped me and I knew it would. Some cars passed me and kept going into the tornado and I don't know why..... But please AVOID tornadoes if you want to live. Looking at my video now, I talked to much;( .....I was in the outer circulation not in it. I am living life!!! And I know the dangers of it! I'm shocked this went viral. I could care less how many views this gets. Like me or not, I can still be your friend. I'm just that way. We should learn from each other and not compete. Chase and enjoy life...not slam. I was NOT going to share this video. I have over 1,000 chase videos never shared. This was going to be my personal experience to keep until news outlets took it and thought they owned it. Now that you see whats its like to be in a tornado/close and please take cover when advised so. You can see the raw power of the winds in this video. RESPECT IT! I was driving my 2002 ford explorer 4.7 4x4. I payed for my window replacements out my pocket and do often from chasing damage. Sorry this had to be so long.

This video was on National TV without my permission. No Media Interviews will be given at this time. Thanks for watching.

I met some amazing friendly Tupleo people!! God Bless Tupelo! A very friendly town!!
