[Tutorial] Mousekeys - How to setup and use (w/ Runescape)

This tutorial covers how to set up and customize mousekeys on Windows Vista, as well as showing some uses of this feature in Runescape.

The Mousekeys settings can be adjusted in Control Panel / Ease of Access Center / Make the keyboard easier to use.

An alternative method is to hold both alt and the left shift button and hitting num lock, which will bring up a window to activate Mousekeys.

For Runescape, the focus is primarily going to be on Top Speed. The higher this setting, the further your cursor will move with a single key press while holding CTRL. Acelleration serves little purpose and can generally be ignored.

To further adjust the distance the cursor moves with each press, go to Control Panel / Mouse. Under the Pointer Options tab, the pointer speed can be adjusted. As with mousekeys, the higher the speed the further the movement.

Some common skilling methods that Mousekeys proves useful for in Runescape are the following:

Runecrafting (withdraw essence)
Fletching (withdraw longbows (u) and string)
Power Fishing (dropping fish)
Power Woodcutting (dropping logs)
Power Mining (dropping logs)
Cleaning herbs

My laptop doesn't have a number pad, does the mouse keys still work with the numbers at the top of my keyboard?

@XTheWayOfTheWarriorX I actually haven't bothered to try it on a laptop, so there may be some other function to make it work on them. =x If you can't find out, I'd suggest downloading some sort of key remapping program online so you can dictate what buttons do what, so for instance your w key can be the 8 on the number pad, s can be 5, etc.

how do I assign keys on the keypad commands because I have no option for a left click

i struggle to press ctrl and my num pad at the same time, this means i cant use mousekeys?
