Entertainment reporter Tim Estiloz provides this RARE montage of Ice Capades video... which was originally compiled by the show's promotional arm under the ownership of Tom Scallen in the early 1990's.

It is a highly entertaining RARE look at 50 years of Ice Capades skaters, production numbers, and TV advertisements for this now - sadly defunct - show that entertained millions for over a half-century. It is a rare "time capsule" of a now bygone era in family entertainment.

Be sure to see - also on You Tube - an equally rare "Behind The Scenes" look at Ice Capades written and produced by Tim Estiloz - former Ice Capades skater, now TV entertainment reporter for CN8 - The Comcast Network.

  • Hmmm obviously you never attanded a show.

  • Gosh, this is surreal. I was 5 years old when I saw the Ewoks Ice Capades show at the Meadowlands in New Jersey, and this film was such a shock to my memory! I remember the cute furry HUGE Ewoks so well, haha.

  • is it true they are revamping and bringing back the Icecapades? Gosh I grew up going to see the shows and was so mesmorized but the sets, the lighting and the costumes. its nothing close to whats out there today. I hope they do bring it back. its like broadway on ice.

  • The other "On Ice" shows are great, but nothing compared to the IC

  • This old footage is pretty cool! I remember going to see them as a little girl in CT.What a treat it was!

  • What a step back in time! I fondly remember the Ice Capades through the 70's. My dad was professional musician and played in the "live music" pits in Hershey, PA. I atteneded all the shows and came in with him in the back door :)
