We're finally getting out of the darkness and back into the light on this track. For this song, I wanted to do something purely angelic and imagined it as the heavens above, against a spacey background, slowly piecing together bits and clusters of stars and celestial energy to form an Angel as an Esper, a physical vessel of God's love, and send her to Earth.

This track was also very difficult for a number of reasons and I tried, and failed to some degree, to make this one of the most significant pieces on the album. The repetition of the pianos and bells is, again, intentional and a lot of it was inspired by Hiroki Kikuta's work on Secret of Mana. I'll admit flat out I messed up on the mixing and the EQ on the song shows it. I'd love to redo this track someday and make it truly shine.

About the album: Espers is a wildly ambitious, slightly experimental and thoroughly, deliberately arranged and manipulated chill-out album with lots of New Age, Ambient, Progressive and apparently Darkwave sounds and structures in them. Each track is designed to be a completely different experience than the one before and after it; where the soundscapes create sparse melodies and evolve the track instead of it moving until finally culminating to a 10 minute piano solo, performed by Michael Huang of www.nobuouematsu.com, as a stark contrast to the album before it. This album and all the many sounds and motifs and designs were inspired by Peter Gabriel, Motoi Sakuraba, Yasunori Mitsuda, Uematsu, Hiroki Kikuta, Berlin School electronic music, Steve Hackett, Enya, David Arkenstone, NIN, Moby and a lot more. It was released in September 2011 by Lightfall/Aardvark Records.

Oh yeah, I dig the ambiance of this piece. Really nice. It's like I want to relax, but it's also a little disconcerting--like there's a bit of tension behind it. Very nice. :)
