It's the weekend of my 48th Birthday. This is my first long ride on the Boxer Twin, my 2004 BMW R1150R, my 'Dream Bike'.
I saddled up and packed a second helmet onto the 1150R, and headed out. My first stop was Shinnecock Canal, then onto Southampton, Noyak, Amagensett, Easthampton, Hither Hills, and finally Montauk Yacht Club. Rode second seat on the way to Montauk Lighthouse with friend Alan at the throttle. Great day! Pics and Vid Combo, about 8 1/2 mins. Enjoy!

  • Hey pbmax, Mick was out of town during my ride. But Billy Joel, passed me in a convertable, on the way to his boat shop on Shelter Island...

  • Nice bike.

I drive the 2002 model but got rid of the windscreen - more or less a naked bike now. I like it better that way - one feels the bike better - exept on the highways of course.

I think i saw a garmin nuvi in your tankbag? I use mine that way: stays dry and still pretty useable.

What are those "CC"s at the back? Corps Consulaire?

    Greetz from Belgium....

  • Hi C Eddy!

I've got my Nuvi on a Ram mount behind the windscreen now, and power from the 12V.

The 'CC' stands for Cape Cod.

I was raised in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, in a small village called 'Falmouth'.

Contact me if you come west.

    Kiitos!

    Jim

  • Greetz Belgium; 'CC' stands for Cape Cod Massachusetts. It is the place of my youth! See you out there sometime!

  • I have the same yr/model, and love my BMW!

Yesterday I was looking at a map of the highway to Montauk, and have added it to my 'must do' ride.

    Thanks for video and stills.

  • Chord, Let me know when you visit the Island! The road to Sag Harbor, via Noyak is a must see! JS
