Two things some Americans are renowned for are their lack of geographical awareness of locations upon maps & their difficulty with spelling within The English Language.
In this context it is not hard to relate to the late & much lamented Edward Hardwicke's comment at the 03:15 mark as I've been trying to escape the prison island known as Australia (not Austria, as our American friends might say & is that joint north west of New Zealand) for many a long year ! «☺»
@MrDayday58 I am just slightly younger and as such could not see it the first time round but I did enjoy watching it (with my mother) this month. Having been to Colditz castle twice, I am impressed by the set which is pretty accurate, considering that the castle was deep inside the DDR at the time the programme was made. I filmed the castle as it is today and posted them here on you tube!
@MrDayday58 i never seen it before, but started watcing on yesterday.thoutoughly enjjoy it and cant wait to see the final eonight, also great to see the germans potrayed as normal people for a change rather than that rubbish we are fed to believe they were all monsters
Brilliant the great series of Colditz from the early 1970's. 1972-1974. I was in school in those days and aged 14-16. They were the happiest days of my life, nice to be able to watch it again on Yesterday, after all those years, 38 in fact. I checked on the web, sadly some of those stars are no longer with us, the others in old age. I'm now 52 and watching it through for a second time. The show hasn't aged a bit, nice the see the stars as young people again.
