The design of the FRM100TR was inspired by many hours of playing and performance by Paul Gilbert with the original Ibanez Fireman model.

The most eye-catching part of the FRM100TR is its unique body shape, featuring a distinctive reverse Iceman body outline. The FM100TR's mahogany body balances remarkably well. The original Ibanez Tight-Tune bridge and tailpiece promote superior transfer of string vibration without unwanted movement.

The FRM100TR features DiMarzio® http://www.dimarzio.com/ pickups favored by Paul. The bridge and neck positions featureDiMarzio® http://www.dimarzio.com/ Injectors™, while the middle features a DiMarzio® http://www.dimarzio.com/ Area '67™. They are designed with hum-cancelling construction to eliminate the noise but retain single-coil tone. These pickups have a warm, modern tone compared to vintage single coil pickups, and provide a clear, tight sound. The sound stays true even under high gain settings, so solos can be clearly heard when performing with a group. The classic bright and clean sound is easy to achieve.

The neck of FRM100TR is different than the previous RG shapes in the Paul Gilbert signature series. It's thicker and fatter - 22mm@1st fret and 24mm@12th fret - for a classic feel. The 3 pc mahogany/maple/mahogany neck offers the player a fat and tight sound with a solid grip for comfortable playability which Paul demanded.

In addition to the new neck, Paul's new signature guitar features taller and narrower frets than on his older PGM models. These allow for clear note definition and easy playability all the way up the neck.

Next is the control layout. Similar to his other signature models, the
FRM100TR features a specific layout to keep the volume knob location in Paul's favorite spot. In addition, the guitar features a pickup selector switch and an added tone control for maximum tone shaping.

Ibanez has released many Paul Gilbert signature models over the years, all featuring different specifications and unique design elements. The FRM100TR is the latest in that line, and a continuation of Paul's search for the ultimate in guitar features, tone and playability.
