hey, i've heard that those 302 boss engines can reach nearly 10, 000 rpm, this true?

@Draco1180 The upper limet is 8500 rpm with race prepared block and internals. Most race teams try to run 8000 or less.

holy Sh**, what modifications have you done to that 302? Cams, heads, carb, intake???? what kind of exaust system are you running; sounds like side pipes to me!

balanced & blueprinted orig boss engine with JE pistons, Crower solid cam, port matched heads, bronze guides, triple springs etc. baffled pan. long tube headers, 3" pipe with Flowmasters makes power to 7200 rpm. Thanks

7500 is the max on a stock boss block because they have a nasty habit like every other 302 with internal harmonics. it ends up walking the number 2 main cap out of the block due to vibration caused with the rpm.

I disagree. I witnessed a 1970 Maverick that was doing 9000 RPM hole shots red lining at 11,000+ RPM.

I talked to the owner between runs. Nash 5 speed, wheelie bars...that was one intense and impressive car.
