Mukto-Mona Founder (www.mukto-mona.com) Dr Avijit Roy interviewed by Dr Biplab Pal on future of rationalism in South Asia Pal's blog: biplabpal2000.googlepages.com
Buddhism was never "atheistic 100 %"..... every Buddhist country has deities ..... and even "Abhisekam" is performed to Buddha..... my view is that only the micro minority people cared about actual Shunyavada, Sankhya etc......
Most Indian people (esp. women) were "never" atheistic in any sense........ What we call "Hindusim" is was always there....esp Devi worship was there always.....in India....the "religions" changed thats all !
mr. Pal your comments relating to India's ancient history at around 5:00 in the above video have ignored the political changes that took place during that time. Aethistic buddhism couldnt stand because it lost its political backing. That's the realtiy of it.
