Teufelsberg is an abandoned listening station in Berlin, which was used by the US to spy on East Berlin. Built on the remains of a Nazi bunker, it is now disused, and has become popular with tourists. The top of the tower is a circular dome with unbelievable acoustics (20 second reverb!), and I thought it would be fun to take my violin up there and try and make it through the Bach Chaconne.
This recording was intended to be a practice; I have a full version of the piece I recorded later in the day. As is often the case, however, the practice turned out to be more honest and interesting than the real thing. I didn't even know that my friends were in the room, let alone that this take was being recorded! There are a fair few mistakes, but it's a record of an experience, and it was a lot of fun to do.

Wow, just...wow. This has got to be one of the most surreal things I've ever seen/heard. You are awesome.
