  • Trigger, I'm not sure if that is true or not. In my case, everything turned out OK. Also, take into consideration that some shops will tell you anything for a chance to get money from you.

  • Hey guys, I'm glad the video was helpful. Shad, thanks for the heads up on the back clips.

  • Thank you so much for this video! I asked the dealer and they negotiated my first born into the price! I did buy K&N air filters cause I herd those are great. Then the mechanic said if I install them that it would ruin my oxygen sensor. Is that true?

  • @NamMoADiDaPhatORG same happened to my today. I put new filters and secure it all, hope CEL goes away tomorrow.

  • very helpful thanks a bunch!!!

  • Thanks! The shop wants $100 for parts and labor.

  • Shad is right. If you don't secure your cover with the throttle body, dirty air could get in and the Engine Light will come on after less than 100 miles driven. If you get Engine Light on, bring it to AutoZone or Advance Auto Parts to check for free. You will likely get these codes P2188 & P2190 (Mass Air Filter -MAF) failure. All you need to do is to reseat it correctly and drive for about 100 miles. The Engine Light should go away by then. I've just experienced this. Dealer wants $800+!

  • Thanks for the video it was really helpful! I did want to mention something about how easy the filter cover came off for you. It only does that when the back two clips are not locked in. You might want to make sure your cover is secured to the throttle body. If the back clips don't lock, you don't have a seal and dirt can bypass the filters. Thanks again!!!

  • Perfect timing. I just changed my Engine Air Filters today 2/15/2011 by followed your video. Thanks very much. Actually I went to MB for Service B maintenance and they inspected the entire car and recommended a few replacement items such as light bulbs, engine air filters, cabin air filter, tires, break flush, and alignment. So I followed the list and got my head light bulbs replaced, my engine air filters replaced (your video), and bought 2 front Michelin Primacy MXM4 225 front tires. Thanks!
