An interview with Offer Shechter about his role as Harel on the show 'Til the Wedding during its second season. This is taken from a "behind the scenes" sort of interview conducted by Avner Bernheimer (the writer) with Offer, Yonatan Uziel (who plays Eyal), Tal Lifshitz (who plays Aya, Harel's sister) and Miri Bohadana (who plays Eti). I've edited into this vud only the parts with Offer, but since I'm using an... "interesting" lossless movie editor, it sometimes "slips in" bits that I didn't intend on including. Sorry 'bout that.

Avner starts by discussing both Tal and Miri being pregnant. I started this vid where Offer first chimes in during this discussion.

Iftach (Klein) and Niv (Raz) are mentioned. Iftach is the guy who plays Yochai on 'Til the Wedding. Incidentally, he also plays Niv Ran, Eytan's brother. Niv Raz is the guy who plays Amir on TTW.

There's also a bit where Avner discusses the reactions of the actors' partners to the love scenes on the show. In another bit, he discusses whether the actors want to get married. Tal and Miri said they don't and neither do their partners, Yonatan said he does.

The chuppa in the Jewish wedding ceremony can be compared to the altar in its Christian counterpart, since it's where the bride, groom and rabbi stand together during the ceremony. The chuppa is a canopy, a sheet or cloth stretched between four pillars. It represents the home that the couple is about to build together. Underneath it stand, as I said, the bride, groom and rabbi, but also the families of the couple and sometimes certain special friends as well. This represents the fact that a home is made not of possessions, but of people and also that in order for a couple to make it, the support of their loved ones is important, which is why sometimes the pillars of the chuppa are also carried by some of the people standing beneath it.

  • So I guess Offer Shechter who plays Harel is not gay?

  • @JiminPalmSprings To the best of our knowledge, yes. :) And I'd like to think he's the kind of person who'd come out if he were gay, so... Same for Niv Raz, who plays Amir.

  • Thanks very very very much

  • @Misssimpe Nothing for! :)

  • You are such a sweetie!! You know that you totally made flippa, harmonium and my day by doing this, not to mention all the other Offer fans out there. (I've posted it to the TGoDT board for you).

  • @jarabaa My heart fell apart!!

  • offer is so dreamy

  • Unfortunately, I got the impression that rather a lot of effort was put into telling the world (repeatedly) that Offer is straight, straight, straight. 100%! I have to say I was very disappointed. It seems that whenever we have gay (male) characters on television, in whatever country, we have to hear at length from the actors that they are red-blooded heterosexual he-men in reality. I can think of some very honourable exceptions, but they are real exceptions... Aval b'chol mikreh, toda rabba!

  • Thank you so much for all your explanations on the clips. I would be lost on some of this stuff without you and I am always interested in other customs and traditions. you really are amazing!

  • @ericnfan (continued) way to go actress that plays his sister for being vocal and putting the interviewer in his place!

  • aww I liked offer saying he wasn't replacing niv for all the money in the wrld. that was so cute. it is wonderful how much they love working together. they have great chemistry. wht is the deal wit the odd host though saying that offer was just upset because due to the character he plays could not end up with the women on the show! that is just messed up thinking. I like that one of he women chimed in though and said well it wouldn't happen with her anyway because she plays his sister!

  • @matan4il I agree.
