Yeah, stop bashing the gun. Learn how to use it. No doubt you've been doing something amateurish in its care and handling, maybe as simple as 'limp-wristing' or not breaking it in properly.

Brent, if you don't work for Kahr Arms, you really should send their PR department your resume, as many of your comments appear copy/pasted from a brochure.
You make an outstanding apologist.

i think the PM9, properly functioning (most with a very few exceptions), is perfectly capable of being one's CCW with no backup.

LoL. Agreed, the Kahr carries easier, especially pocket. It's why I got the dang thing.
But since I can't trust it to not go belly up in a fight, I figured out how to carry my G26 (which has never, ever jammed over several thousand rounds). Try AIWB carry, and work towards ditching the Kahr except for a backup (or preferably, a backup to your backup).

Liberty, thanks for such a well thought out response.
I have the same mag release problems while shooting.

So far, I have not any problems with my Kahr PM9. Maybe you should just take care of your damn gun, you won't have any problems.
kahr`s are great pistols!i love my cm9!have you ever detail stripped yours and throughly cleaned it?they do have cosmiline packed in these slides and magazines.check all springs and re-polish feed ramp.also check feed lips of magazines!this is very little to do to have a fine working pistol!if you don`t like yours, then send it my way!

@bobsolla If you have to do all that to the gun to make it work, it's not a "great pistol".
Time to drag my dirty Glock through the dirt and watch it work flawlessly again and again.

hmm, maybe I just got a good gun, or maybe you're not holding yours in a way that avoids the mag release. I've never had a problem with mine. And also, I can rack the slide without any stove piping. I've done it countless times after the break-in period.

I have no problems racking the slide. brentfoto was just being an apologist for a flawed technique advocated in Kahr's manual.
Yes, perhaps others had better guns than the 2 Kahrs I've been saddled with.
But such a rash of hit or miss QC and QA, even amongst a brand's advocates, will lead to people like myself directing others to spend their money on other companies' product lines.
