Marine Master Sgt. Robert Allen, deployed to Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan, sings a song he wrote for his wife for Christmas.
Allen joins the thousands of military men and women deployed this holiday season in support of counterinsurgency efforts in Afghanistan. He said he hopes his Christmas song "will help people understand that though we're willing to do it, it's still heartbreaking."

  • It is kind of mind blowing thinking about all the countless soldiers throughout history who went through the same feelings livin every day like its their last with they're best friends in the endless battlefields.

  • @Cocokokolaw Im a Goddamn Afghanistan veteran from OEF8.1 i dont wanna hear it i have to say it must be nice to sit and sing songs in a fob while others are out in an ao somewhere, watching their buddies die and pickin up their pieces, but my cynical thoughts and pea sized brain must make me absolutely notknowing huh, fuck you youre a commir

  • @kdmelton69

My reply is below: I thank God for my freedoms and for living in the best country in the world! Our military is honorable and wonderful and I hope for their safety and that of their families as they unselfishly give of themselves for all of us! God bless the USA, our brave men and women and their families! I am proud of them all and proud to be an American!

  • This is from Duncan to me,

@kdmelton69 Military men don't fight for my freedom or anyone else except rich old men and their wealthy defense contractors. The real men stay at home and protect their families, not taking orders from their rich masters who never served themselves because they are smarter then the average serviceman and know it's all a bunch of bullshit. They won't even send their own adult kids into the military but have no problem sending everyone elses kids to war you ASS.

  • Hey Duncan, I wish you well this year and hope sincerely that you enjoy the freedoms afforded to you by our military and the fact that they serve you, me and everyone with their lives! It is sad that you cannot see the truth but you are absolutely entitled to your opinion, however misguided that is! If you think so little of our military and by extension our country than you are free to leave it! Nothing is perfect but I've lived around the world, due to military service and love my country!

  • Good job Msgt come home safley semper fi

  • Nicely done Sgt. Showing your love for your family is the one thing they need this time of the year as it is at all times of the year. Thanks for your service and come home safe....USMC 1965-1968.....

  • Merry Christmas my love... I miss you and this song still means as much to me now as it did 4 years ago! Stay safe and come home soon. I'm very proud of you and so happy others can see the talent I get the pleasure of hearing everyday when you aren't 7000 miles away from me. See you soon. I love you..............

  • Great song! Very heartfelt; thank you for serving!

  • Good song master sergeant. Semper fi!
