Darius Milhaud - Brazileira

Although the Brazileira, the third Movement of Milhaud's Scaramouche, originally is a composition for two Pianos, the adaption for saxophone and piano is very popular. Here we tried to combine the saxophone part with some latin-rhythms, performed by a combo of three percussionists, bass and piano. This is not as inconvenient as you might think - when writing the "Scaramouche", Milhaud was influenced by journeys to Southern America.

This is not as strange as you might think - when writing the "Scaramouche", Milhaud was influenced by journeys to Southern America. So we probably only brought the original character back!

i think this works really well. Quite different but you capture the style of the piece well.
