Wilhelmina (Wilhelmina Helena Pauline Maria; 31 August 1880 - 28 November 1962) was Queen regnant of the Kingdom of the Netherlands from 1890 to 1948. She ruled the Netherlands for fifty-eight years, longer than any other Dutch monarch. Her reign saw World War I and World War II, the economic crisis of 1933, and the decline of the Netherlands as a major colonial empire. Outside the Netherlands she is primarily remembered for her role in World War II, in which she proved to be a great inspiration to the Dutch resistance.

Just to inform you :
Wilhelmina succeeded her father Willem III as Queen after his death in 1890, but
being only a 10 year old girl, her mother Queen Emma took care of state business as
Queen-Regent untill 1898. Being 18 year old Wilhelmina was sworn in as fourth
king of The Kingdom of the Netherlands.

She ruled the Netherlands not 58 but 50 years from 1898 till 1948. She was 10 when here father King Willem III died to young to be Queen. Under Dutch law the age to become Monarch is 18. Between here 10th and 18th birthday here mother Queen Emma was the Queen Regent and was then in fact our head of state.

She is The Only Queen, you see smile in old photos. The rest, look so grim. I would think she was not only a Queen. She was a nice Human Being. The best was said about her Funeral. All white,"Earthly death was the beginning of Eternal Life."
RIP Your Majesty. Job Well Done!!

Do you know Dutch people usually hide a patroit of their Queen on walls and on some furniture during World War II by turning it round whenever the Germans or Dutch Nazis came in.
One British airman did remembered it when he was shot down over Holland but managed to get back to Britain after he was helped by friendly Dutch people.
