The $50,000 Adena Springs Matchmaker Turf Sprint on August 22 went to Stealth Cat, owned by J. Kirk Robison of El Paso, Texas. Ridden by Luis Quinonez, it was the first start over turf for Stealth Cat who handled the surface well.

It was her first time on the grass and she did great, Quinonez said. She tries every time. As long as you let her run, shes going to be there for you.

Stealth Cat was there at the finish after tracking the early leader, Suzy Three, through the first three furlongs. The pace-setting Suzy Three was scorching the earth, getting the opening quarter-mile in :20.86.

Taking the lead in the stretch, Stealth Cat hit the half-mile mark in :43.54 and just held on at the line as 32-1 long shot Game N Laughin was flying at her in the final yards, missing by a head. Annie Savoy was up for third.

The Adena Springs was accomplished in :56.15 over firm going.

Away at 3-1 in the wagering, Stealth Cat paid $8.40 to win, $5.60 to place and $3.20 to show. Game N Laughin returned $30.20 to place and $8 to show.
Annie Savoy paid $8.20 to show.

A 4-year-old Texas-bred filly by Magic Cat from the Integrity mare Dixies Integrity, Stealth Cat won her third race in her last four attempts and her eighth race overall from 18 starts. The $30,000 winners share boosts her career earnings to $254,040.

The Adena Springs Matchmaker Turf Sprint was the first win at Remington Park for Stealth Cat, in her initial Oklahoma City attempt.

The top three finishers in the Adena Springs Matchmaker each won a non-guaranteed stallion season for their owners to one of three sires standing at Adena Springs: 2005 Kentucky Derby winner Giacomo, 1996 Breeders Cup Classic winner Alphabet Soup and graded stakes winner Olmodavor.

The win on Stealth Cat was the fourth of the evening for Quinonez who launched to the lead in the Remington Park jockey standings with seven victories in three nights of racing. A resident of Jones, Okla., Quinonez hopes the rest of his local season is as successful as his Opening Weekend.

Im happy to be home and off to a good start, its great. Ive been second before here (in the standings), so maybe this will be the year for me.
