  • I was there in 1968, and, in my opinion and that of the other members of the audience, Ms. Price did not have an "off night." She achieved in this performance the drama in text and musical line that she did not in the 1966 performance. Some of you commentators are too young to have heard here live. Too bad!!

  • There is no other....Prima Donna Assoluta!!! Off night? Ha! There are sopranos who would be so lucky to have an on night as good as her off nights. Brava!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Happy Life Anniversary Today Miss Price !!!

  • ad un soffio dalla perfezione...

  • una forza naturale,ed una chiara dizione, nonostante non di lingua italiana.

    Mi piace.

  • @4lebenbaum Thank you...love it! Well said!

  • @MilKaf78 If you prefer Amelia it´s up to you. The spelling of the name in Swedish is Amelia, but in English Amalia. I think we meen the same, because I have sang it myself. So for me there is only one Amelia

    and that is Teresa Zylis-Gara.

  • @prince2000ful Maybe Amalia, this is Amelia

  • @4lebenbaum I agree completely with you and must add: how lucky you were! I was born too late, unfortunately, to have heard and seen these superb artists live.

  • I am privileged to have this pirate recording, and I must say the entire cast, including, apart from Price, Bruno Prevedi, Robert Merrill and Nell Rankin, was exceptional, vocally and dramatically superb, genuinely convincing and successfully bringing to life words, music and the characters they were portraying.

  • Oh...thanks a lot for posting, for Leontyne of course, and Thomas Schippers, the best

for me, died too early....what a team ! bravo !
