A spinning pendulum that drips color and draws a square (!).
The process lasts more than 6 minutes, so this short video is presented at a faster speed.
Made with openframeworks.

  • Yes kuddos, I'm happy you noticed! :)

  • Thanks!

I havent published the code yet, because it's a bit of spaghetti-code right now

  • Thank you!

This is exactly the concept of this installation.

    Order over chaos.

For me, it is a comment on the battle between nature (chaos) and machine (order).

  • Thank you!

The pendulum's position is tracked with an IR led (on the pendulum) and a Wii Remote (on the wall, pointing at the drawing area).

Please visit Johnny Lee's webpage and check "Low-Cost Multi-point Interactive Whiteboards Using the Wiimote" for more details.

  • this is brilliant - I love the notion of selective utilization of the pendulum's haphazard path in order to accomplish a goal. It's like filtering randomness/chaos to reveal order... I'm wholly inspired by this concept.

  • Amazing concept! How is the pendulum's position tracked?
