John Mayer talks about his latest collaboration with Fender—the new John Mayer Special Edition BLACK1 Stratocaster guitar. Mayer himself is seen here onstage playing the guitar, which is based on his favorite instrument, nicknamed "BLACK1." The new model "has the absolute heart and soul of the BLACK1," Mayer says here. And when you watch this clip, you'll feel just like he does when he says, "I wanna plug this thing in."

@2012EledtionSong iam with you man. i think mayers is just ridding on SRV's coat tales and the only reason he plays blues is because no one takes his girly love balads serious.

to me a blues player is not only some one who can play the blues but also someone who has lived the life.

@GretschBeastFan I don't even like John Mayer but I think he can take himself seriously as a guitar player if he wants. In fact, if Justin Beiber wants to learn the pentatonic scale and take himself serious he can, if he can play with Clapton and B.B.King without them frowning on his fretboard. If he gets BB's respect than he also gets mine.

hrmm interesting conversation lots of haters i think anyone who thinks they are 'better' than this dude (and to be calling him shithouse) im thinking u must be an incredible guitarist, maybe you should show us what a 'good' guitarist is by covering something like 'neon' while singing!! im not a huge John Mayer fan but i can appreciate him as a musician for sure! Everybody that is bagging him doesnt have any uploads to show their skills so stop talking and start walking!
