This is my review of RE5. I really liked the game. The new inventory system is great. Graphics and sound are on par with other AAA titles. Gameplay and co-op online is really fun. The story is good enough although as a long time RE fan I was hoping for more.

I played through co-op mode with Frostfox, check out his channel:

This is a great game over all and I recommend it to all action game fans!

  • Oh man. I'm gonna have to start playing that one. I actually have a copy of the gamecube one but never played it cause I beat 1 already and was working on 0 at the time.

  • 0 was good, cool Idea with the two characters which they KIND OF brought back in 5, but I think 0's was much cooler because you had to think about where each character was to solve puzzles. Prepare for some super nostalgia vibes when you start playing RE1- haha!

  • Ohhh. I never played them. So they were the exact same? Thanks for the info. I only played them on ps1. Like I said I have the wii version of re1 and I plan on playing through that soon.

  • Yeah, RE1 was a remade with new graphics and more was added to the story and the area outside the mansion. It's really awesome honestly! It still looks great the character models and pre-rendered backgrounds look amazing, if it was HD I bet it would still hold up with this gen. It's one of the best remakes ever because the original is so outdated, but this one brings everything back and eliminates all the cheesy stuff.

  • They did remake 2 and 3 as well on the game cube but are really hard to find in stores and are quite a bit more than other gamecube games now. You can find them on amazon. I think they plan on releasing them for the wii as well.

  • Those are ports, not re-makes. They were exactly the same as the PS1 and N64 versions.

  • @AlexanderArts I agree. The ending was very well placed, although the entire game itself felt somewhat lacking.

You're absolutely right - to someone who hasn't been a long-time fan or played the previous entries, the ending will not be nearly as surprising or satisfying.

Although, I have to admit. I did not want to accept that you-know-who gets you-know-what. After all the stuff that happened with you-know-who in the previous games, it's sort of surprising that they just end up doing that.

  • I miss nemesis : (

  • Yeah I mean I did a review on 5 and it's a great game and all but if you think back to what the re games used to be, you really can't compare them cause they're soo different. It's like comparing apples and oranges, both fruit, but totally different.

  • The RE1 remake for Gamecube was really an amazing game. I wish they had remade RE2 as well, but I doubt that will happen now that they are onto the RE4 style now.
