Basic Preparedness Instruction on water and the process required to properly boil it to purify it for drinking. We discuss that it takes 10 minutes of a hard boil for purification to be ensured, we demonstrate that we need to pre-filter our water and most importantly - point out that boiling water is not a good solution due to the amount of fuel it consumes.

  • You only need to get it to a full rolling boil. No need to get it to a boil for ten minutes. But a good point that it will use up fuel. A lid also helps keep water from escaping as steam. If you pasterize the water then you don't need to boil it but you need to keep it at temp for several minutes.

  • I have never drank water that was boiled like that, but I can imaging it does not taste very good.

  • Thanks for doing this series to help everyone out there. Take Care my friend :-))
