A quick video of my Ford Granada Scorpio, with a 2.9-litre fuel-injected V6 and automatic gearbox. It's been parked under cover for the past 5 weeks so I wasn't entirely sure what was going to happen - so I thought I'd film it just in case. Turns out that it fired up just like that!

I let it warm up and then gave it a few revs, just to clear its throat. Hopefully this will give you some idea of what the old Cologne V6, which makes 150bhp, sounds like. I'll be taking the Ford, which drives beautifully, out on the road soon so I'll do a proper video in due course.

It's not smoking by the way - it's just very cold, damp, and there's a lot of condensation in the exhaust from standing.

  • sounds like uve got a slight blow in the backbox or is it just me ace cars old granadas very high spec on them

  • @sierraoscar1990 Indeed, it was parked up for a long while and the exhaust suffered a bit from condensation rusting it out. Good spot!

Yea, the list of kit is mega, fantastic to drive too - rides better and is more comfortable than a lot of modern cars I've driven recently, although the handling isn't obviously as good and it's not as quick - but then it's no sports car! Lovely autobox too makes it very relaxing to drive, great part-throttle kickdown on it.

  • classic motor would be nice to see more cars from this era on the road

  • @diavlos666 Yea, would make the roads much more interesting, that's for sure!

  • in my papers also "granada scorpio"

    Nice!

  • @shepshepherd And thanks very much by the way - it is a lovely piece of kit, supremely comfortable to drive!

  • @shepshepherd As far as I'm aware, yes - they were dealer option parts and the previous owner (only had two keepers) stated that they'd been on it from new. I've not seen another like it, to be honest - I'd love to know how rare an option it was!

  • @paulb4uk Thanks Paul - yea, I think they've all either rusted away or been run into the ground! This one's remarkably clean - and only covered a genuine 33,000 miles. Drives superbly, makes a fantastic cruiser and has everything you could want - cruise control, air-con, ABS, PAS, electric windows, electric leather seats (front and rear), electric sunroof, heated front and rear screens, pneumatically adjustable bolsters, central locking, trip computer, puddle lights...the list goes on!

  • Sounds nice quite rare to see these Granada,s now .I love these big fords .
